Mobile Installation for Lightroom Presets
1. Download the preset bundle on your phone. It will be a .dng file (don’t freak out if the image is not displayed in your “Photos” app; it will display in the Lightroom Mobile app). I like to save the .zip to my “Files.”
2. Open your Files folder and tap the .zip file to release the Lightroom preset bundle.
3. Open the Lightroom Mobile App.
4. (To stay organized) Tap the “+” next to “Albums” and create a new Album titled “Presets.”
5. Click the Photo+ symbol in the bottom right to add your Lightroom Preset .dng file.
6. Tap “From Files” and find where you saved your files.
7. Click the first .dng file.
8. Once that photo is imported, tap on it and then the three dots in the top right corner of your screen.
9. Choose “Create Preset”.
10. Title this preset with your own custom name.
11. Hit the “Check Symbol” or “Done“ to save the preset.
12. Repeat Steps 7-11 to import all of your preset bundle.
13. FINISHED! Now you will find these presets when you go into the User Presets in your app (scroll along the bottom editor to find “Presets”).
If you struggle with any of this, do feel free to let me know and I will do my best to walk you through it.
I want to adjust the preset:
Sometimes you might find that something doesn’t look right when you apply the preset, whether it’s the brightness or color.
Every photo setting is different and lighting isn’t always the same so you might need to adjust your preset to your liking.
If you need a bit of help, here’s some quick tips:
1. The preset made my photo too bright. How do I adjust it?
Adjust the following settings in your Mobile Lightroom App:
- Light > Exposure > Decrease
- Light > Shadows > Decrease
2. The preset made my photo too dark. How do I adjust it?
Adjust the following settings in your Mobile Lightroom App:
- Light > Exposure > Increase
- Light > Shadows > Increase
3. The preset made my photo too warm/cold. How do I adjust it?
Adjust the following settings in your Mobile Lightroom App:
- Color > Temp > Increase/Decrease (more YELLOW for warmer tones, more BLUE for cooler tones)
